Clyde shopmobility was established with the principal aim of improving access and freedom of movement for individuals with mobility problems.
We provide a range of equipment including manual and powered wheelchairs, and powered scooters to assist those with a range of disabilities or mobility problems.
Our service is available to anyone with either temporary or permanent disability.
One of the most important benefits of the shopmobility scheme is the freedom and independence that it affords our service users. Our service users will have the independence to enjoy all the amenities that the Clyde Shopping Centre has to offer. We hope eventually to provide this service across all West Dunbartonshire.
Users of shopmobility services regularly speak of being socially isolated and unable to get out and about on their own, without relying on family members, friends and carers. Shopmobility also provides families, friends and carers short time respite.
Membership
The annual membership is a one off £5 paid on day of registration or first day of use the equipment. Members can book a scooter or wheelchair in advance of day of use. We require photographic proof of identity and proof of address.
